HOLLINGSWORTH CABINETRY

A History of Hollingsworth

Our family business first opened the doors as Hollingsworth American Country in 1990, in a centuries old building we renovated in downtown Wilmington.  We offered Pencil Post and Sleigh Beds, Bookcases and Entertainment Centers, all made and finished to-order.

Our business was based on mail-order, our customers found us by our advertising in House Beautiful and Country Living Magazine, and our furniture was delivered by a local trucking company all over the country.

As our business evolved we started to build cabinetry for the local Wilmington market, and started Hollingsworth Cabinetry in 1994.  Our customers became homeowners who were building or renovating their home.

With our workshop and finish shop for our mail order business, we had the unique ability to offer well-priced manufactured cabinetry, but with custom touches like our Custom Wood Hoods, our Benches and Bookcases.  About fifteen years ago we started to offer our own line of Hollingsworth Custom Cabinetry.

Today at our facility in Wilmington we have two showrooms with over 40 displays to show the great range of possibilities, with our workshop and finishing shop in adjoining buildings.  Our total space under roof is close to 30,000 feet set on 3 acres.

Our workshop and finish shop build beautiful cabinetry using the most modern equipment, but run by old-school cabinet craftsmen and craftswomen.  And with the addition of our son Hudson four years ago, and his wife Kristyn, we have now really become a family business.

Our Products

We represent Kith and Eudora Cabinets, who offer an excellent selection of door styles and finishes, all of which are made-to-order.  Our Hollingsworth workshop builds custom cabinets, hoods, bookcases and benches.  And our finish shop does amazing work with paints, glazes and stains.
